Fused Quartz also posseses chemical resistance and its durability makes it an economically priced material. Transmission is useful from 260nm to over 2 microns and there are many grades from commercial to precision making it a good choice for industrial and optical applications. They can be made in large diameters and thicknesses and to custom options. For Quartz windows less than 1mm thick there is a range of Fused Quartz cover slips with thicknesses down to 0.10mm thick.
